The wonderful staff treated me very well, and made me feel welcome without being intrusive.

The Aubrey felt like a bit of a sanctuary. You can sip your drink in peace, and take in the surroundings. If you’re up for a chat, the staff are easygoing and happy to talk. If not, no one bothers you. After a full day out in the city, it was the kind of quiet, grown-up spot that felt like a proper break from the buzz outside.

If you enjoy elegant food experiences like this, you might also love Hong Kong’s afternoon tea scene. It’s one of my favourite ways to spend a slow afternoon in the city.

4. Ozone at The Ritz-Carlton – High on Views, Low on Vibes

While the décor looks fancy in this photo, I found it to be a little cheap and dated.

You can’t argue that Ozone has the best view in town (this is taken in the Ladies’ room). Jaw-dropping and mesmerizing, especially at dusk when you can see the sun going down and the buildings lighting up.

Still, I’d say go for the view alone. There’s something pretty surreal about being that high up, looking out over the city from what feels like the edge of the sky. It’s one of those “just once” stops that’s worth it, even if only for a few photos and a moment to take it all in.

If you’re chasing famous Hong Kong views, you’ll also want to visit the iconic Victoria Peak.
